Constraints

In ENetOPT, a wide range of constraints can be defined to reflect real-world operating conditions and ensure realistic optimization results. Constraints can be set based on key parameters of major equipment such as boilers, turbines, HRSGs, and gas turbines—including output range, efficiency, and steam production—enabling modeling that reflects actual operating limits.

Additionally, ENetOPT supports constraint definitions that reflect physical interdependencies between equipment. For example, relationships such as changes in steam pressure or fuel consumption based on turbine output, or variations in turbine efficiency depending on the condenser’s operation, can be expressed as mathematical equations.

Users can also freely define custom constraints based on specific operational strategies or policy requirements, such as limits on operation rates during certain periods, fuel usage restrictions, or CO₂ emission caps. All defined constraints are automatically computed and reflected in ENetOPT’s optimization process, enabling the creation of optimal plans that are both realistic and practically applicable.
