IPOES + CNN for Bio-Factories

Objective of Process Automation

  • Automate the filtration and washing (F&D) processes in slurry concentration to prevent overflow, and reduce process time and manual operations
  • Automate decision-making for completion of filtration using AI vision (CNN) to analyze the filter dryer status

CNN-based Automation Mechanism

  • CNN module analyzes camera footage in real-time to determine completion of filtration
  • DVR captures and transmits video to the AI server
  • If CNN detects "filtration complete", IPOES triggers automatic opening of discharge valve

Result of CNN–IPOES Integrated Operation Automation

  • Slurry concentration process:
    • Average process time reduced by 28% (approx. 4h 30min saved)
    • Manual operation frequency reduced by over 95% (from 123 times → 3 times)
  • Filtration/Washing (F&D) process:
    • Operation count reduced from 108 times → 2 times
