IPOES turns standard operating procedures into executable, monitored sequences for safer and more consistent operation.
Integrated Process Operational Expert System
IPOES is Infotrol's process automation system. Standard operating procedures are drawn rather than coded, executed and monitored from a browser, and connected to the plant's historians and advanced control systems so that operation runs as one automated flow.

Core Capability
What IPOES gives an operating team, from drawing a procedure to running it against the plant.
Procedures are assembled by drag and drop, with no code to write. A library of shapes provides the functions needed to build the logic, and mathematical and logical operators are available for more intricate expressions, so an operating flowchart converts directly into an executable standard operating procedure.

IPOES interlinks with Honeywell PHD, Aspen IP21, dataPARC and OSI PI, and reads from OPC DA, relational databases, real-time databases and Excel at the same time. Standard data interface protocols mean an existing historian rarely needs to be replaced.

Procedures are written, executed, modified and monitored entirely in the browser, with the editor and viewer separated so access follows each user's authority. Standard web technology means the same system runs on PC and mobile. Python can be used where a procedure needs it, a hierarchical logic structure keeps complex sequences readable, and logging records history for direct review.

IPOES acts as the central hub across Infotrol's solutions, linking Infotrol-MPC and HPCB advanced control, AI vision control and batch optimal production planning into one automated operation. Control parameters are adjusted dynamically as operating conditions change, and functionality can be extended further through Web APIs.

Why IPOES
Automating the procedure unifies how the plant is run, so operating steps are executed the same way regardless of who is on shift.
Automated procedures collect process data into a database, giving engineers the evidence to identify issues and improve the process.
The operating expertise of senior operators is captured in the procedure itself rather than leaving with the person who holds it.
IPOES links Infotrol-MPC and HPCB advanced control, AI vision control and batch production planning into a single automated operation.
Fewer abnormal conditions and shutdowns, with stronger responsiveness to abnormal situations and critical alarms.
Less operating time spent on repetitive tasks, lower cost around production and personnel changes, and smaller swings in quality and yield.
Applications
IPOES automates operating procedures across process industries, from start-up and shutdown to changeover and abnormal-situation response.
Grade Change
Infotrol's batch optimal production planning can be used for multiple lines and grades, requiring management of batch cycles, quality checks, packaging, and stock transfers.

Core Capability
What the plan has to satisfy before it is usable on the floor.
Plans cover several production lines and several grades together, rather than scheduling one line at a time.
Each grade carries its own batch cycle time, so the schedule reflects how long that particular product actually takes to make.
The time needed for quality inspection and transfer to inventory after each batch is built into the plan rather than assumed away.
A preference order for each grade is respected, so the plan follows how the site actually wants to sequence production.
A separate cleaning time is applied whenever a line switches grade, so changeovers are not underestimated.
Production preference also takes account of inventory levels and market prices, so the plan responds to demand as well as capacity.
Technology
A MILP model turns those conditions into a schedule that can be handed to the floor.
Why Batch Planning
Cycle time, quality inspection, transfer to inventory and cleaning are all inside the model, so the schedule reflects what the line can actually do.
A separate cleaning time is applied to every grade change, so changeover cost is visible in the plan instead of appearing later as a delay.
Planning results are displayed automatically, the system runs on Windows and the web, and it integrates with an existing MES or production management system.
